Amateurvoetballers besteden veel tijd aan activiteiten buiten het voetbalveld, zoals werk en onderwijs. Deze activiteiten, gemeten aan het begin van het seizoen, zijn echter niet gerelateerd aan het krijgen van een hamstringblessure.

Op het Science Café Wageningen op 21 September 2022 met de title "Resilience of mind and body: Recovering from setbacks in sports and mental health" gaf Ruud den Hartigh een presentatie over Resilience in elite sports.
